Didn't you get an inspector before you purchased? They should have caught some of these things, at least the rotten boards. Wonder if you take the reports to a lawyer if they can do anything about getting some of that money back for you. What a shame! That's just unethical! Folks, stay away from "recommended" home inspectors especially if they are from the realtors/agents SELLING the house, find your own, or better yet use city inspectors whenever possible. They cost about the same, maybe a few bucks more depending on where your purchasing. Although it would be illegal for the recommended home inspectors to lie, some seem to "over look" things and focus on the positive things making you beleive that this is the best house in the neighborhood! ...speaking from experiance.
