I’m a real estate agent who has a client looking for a townhome in Park Slope Brooklyn.

I found a listing that was listed with another broker…BETANCOURT REALTY.

I called the broker and was told that they only co-broke if the listing agent wants to.
Betancourt realty then asked me for the name of my client to see of they were in their system. Like a fool, I gave them the name. They immediately contacted my client about showing them townhomes.

It’s bad enough that realtors in NYC have a bad rep. BUT bottom feeders like the agents at Betancourt in Park Slope Brooklyn, make it worse for everyone.

If they are that “scumy” with realtors, what self respecting buyer or seller would want to work with them?

    Stay away.

this management company leased a home to Friends Agianst Crack Inc for the purpose of supposrting women in recovery. At the end of the lease October 28th, 2009 the property was surrendered in impeccable condition ye the 900.00 security deposit has been witheld for no apparent reason without cause. The landlord Mr. shoham Amin has done so simply because he can. the SVA group owns 2 hotls in Petersburg, The Econo Lodge on Winfiled Road and the Knights Inn on wythe Street. I advise anyone leasing homes from SVA group to negotiate an escrow account or accounting firm to hold the deposit buyer beware.

Company Name:: Keller Williams McKenna Team

I am the homeowner. I listed with KELLER WILLIAMS MCKENNA TEAM in Las Vegas, NV.Was told I was renting to “an older couple and a labrador.” Found out I was renting to 7 people and a pitbull(once I finally went to her office to get the contract). I was constantly told what I wanted to hear. Turns out the tennant was constantly lied to as well. She termintated contract and kept 12 months of her commision after 2 months of poor managment and lack of due dilegence on the contract in the first place (didnt notice that the tenant had changed it before Realtor signed it). Currently seeking legal assistance… Just hate to see anyone else delt with in the same manner. Dont trust ANY realtor without doing your homework!!!

  • ERA Statewide Realty Duped Grandma!

Posted on November 14th, 2009 Jim Haustein 1 comment

    Company Name:: ERA Statewide Realty

A client of ERA Statewide Realty of Cranford, New Jersey put an offer on my mother’s home of 52 years. According to the contract, an additional $33,490 deposit was supposed to be paid by the buyer and held in escrow by ERA Statewide prior to closing. When the buyer walked away from the deal, we put the house on the market again and sold it for considerably less than the first offer. When we tried to collect damages from the deposit, it was brought to our attention that the second deposit was never paid. According to the managing broker for ERA Statewide, their agent knew that the buyer did not pay the second deposit but elected not to advise my mother, her agent or her attorney that this clause of the contract was never executed. ERA Statewide’s managing broker expressed frustration over this incident, adding a comment that she told her agent that she hoped we “sue the bejeezers out of him.” She also indicated that she is in no position to monitor the activities of her agents.

Since we lost all leverage with the original buyers in so far as trying to recoup damages, I advised ERA Statewide that we are holding them liable. ERA Statewide’s managing broker denied all previous statements and indicated that we would “have to go to litigation.” I mailed a certified letter to the CEO of ERA Franchise. He did not have the professional courtesy to respond but his office did advise me that ERA Statewide is independently owned and they could do nothing. Well, they CAN revoke the franchise, you know!

So basically, ERA Statewide duped grandma and the franchise management could care less. ERA Statewide exhibited, in my opinion, unscrupulous and unethical practices; regarding the intentional and willful withholding of information relevant to a real estate sale. Avoid these people like you would avoid Swine Flu!

  • Agents Show Little Respect

Posted on November 10th, 2009 Mr. Condo-owner No comments

After returning form an hour outing so the showing agent could show the house we noticed the house was getting cold. After checking the furnace, it had been shut off. Before going to bed we always have a window or as in thiscse the patio door open. For the life of me I could not get it opened. Again after checking why, it was broken and stuck in the locked position.

Company Name:: re max all pro realty diane kirvan

we were showed the property the in sept. we asked our agent if the owners were willing to do a lease purchase deal to give us time to either rent or sell our home. All we expected was a yes or no instead we were asked by diane kirvan to give the owners some time that the dad was having some medical tests done. It turns out that the dad had lung cancer. again we were asked to give the family some time. On 10-11-09 Diane sent our agent a email asking us to wait til after 10-13-09 that the family would be better prepared to make a decision. She said that she was doing her due diligence regarding a market rent for the house. She had several terms we agreed to all of them. We were put on hold for almost a month. We finally got fed up with her putting us off and I was leaving the area to go back home so Diane was told by our agent that we were putting in a offer to buy and when we sent the offer over with a 5,000 check she said she would not accept it because she had her own customer offer and their check. I have bought and sold many properties all over the USA and there were times I would have 3 offers at one time I could choose which offer I wanted. As far as we know the owners were not aware of our new offer. We were always was going to buy the house we just kept being put off by her and was told to give the family time. So I got screwed for being compassionate for the other family .This is what is wrong with this country and why we are in the shape we are now in. Pure greed. And the real estate board will not stop the agents they police them selves. What happened to having ethics.

  • Misrepresntation by WEICHERT REALTORS

Posted on November 9th, 2009 Stuart Dodge No comments

I will be sure and tell 250 people in southeast Florida how terrible your service is.

I left a message with Weichert’s answering service Sunday 11/1/2009; 3 days later Rachel Bracha leaves a tired sounding message on my voice mail leaving me HER phone # that goes to voice mail when I call back the next day.

I access my Weichert web account and send Rachel an email requesting info on renting a certain property listed for $1,000 per month, requesting exact info. Next day I get an email from Weichert saying that Rachel is dropping me as a prospect.

These people should be banned from conducting any real estate transactions in Florida, imo.

    I quote below:
“Our Account Executive Rachil Bracha, REALTOR, has indicated that you are no longer interested in assistance with information on Miami Real Estate. ”

I call the office Monday AM, give two property listing #’s — both listings have the WRONG rental price per month. instead of the rental rate of $1,000 per month, the condo rents for $1,000 per week.

The new agent I called asks me what date the 4 month seasonal rental will be, I reply sometime in December it will start. That’s not good enough for her, she becomes argumentative and says that she needs the precise date. I tell her I am just formulating plans and want general information and accurate property listings to select from.

I ask the agent for a listing that is accurate on the website for a Sunny Isles rental on the beach. Two times I select a $1,000 per month rental listing, two times the listing rents for $1,000 per week.

When confronted with how inaccurate her website is she is unable to provide me with the information and hangs up.

Meanwhile, I go to Craigslist, type in “season” + “internet” + “beach” and get 79 property listings in the south florida area.
Obviously the clients that have listings with Weichert should go somewhere else.
