I recently sold my home in downtown Fredericksburg and Pam was the agent for the buyer. I am writing this review due to her unprofessional actions tword the end of the sale. This was a family member (nephew) she represented on the sale, and it was disclosed to me that they were family. There was a conflict between myself and Pam as a result of this representation. The contract was for a set price with two small items that were asked for and were agreed upon. We are moving out of the country, and asked the buyer if he also wanted some of our items as we could not take them. These extra items were given as a goodwill gesture and the agents did not add them to the contract. These items included old patio furniture (we bought new, one item was a gift), yard equipment, grill, other electrical items. The final walk through was done on the house a day before closing. All of our belongings were out, and I was still staying there until the day of closing with enough items to sustain me until leaving. House was already very clean, and it was evident to any reasonable person that my personal items and trash would have been removed when required. I left the house for the final walk through only to be called back so that Pam could go over issues with me. I walked into my home, and noticed many of my personal items had been disturbed. My airbed had been thrown into the middle of the floor, the cup that contained my son’s expensive retainers were taken from the bathroom and moved outside. My kitchen floors and counters were a mess as they were going through everything. She commented that the house was filthy, and wanted me to clean it better for her nephew. She said that it was his first house, and I needed to do a better job for him. My house was already very clean and much better then the broom clean condition that was per the contract. She was very upset at our yard equipment because she claimed that we had a gas powered mower, and accused us of taking it. I told her all we ever had was a manual mower, and she was very wrong. She was also very upset that we left them our used patio furniture instead of the new set that we bought, and that we took a table that they loved. I told her that we always intended to take the new set, and the table was a gift, and something that we never would agree to give up. She wanted high compensation for our personal propery that she wanted her nephew to have, that we never agreed to give. She specifically told us that she wanted this to be a positive home buying experience for her nephew, and demanded money for him so that he can buy the new items. I told her that we are not responsible for her confusion in the matter, and there was to be no compensation. She did get compensated for some missing hardware to a window that I knew we had. She found some small pieces to the detached hardware, but the rest of it was missing. All pieces of the detached widow hardware were not seperated at one time. I believe now that she deliberately detached them, and got rid of a portion of it, told us that this was all she found, and then demanded compensation for it. She also wanted to come back into my home one hour before closing to make sure that I did not steal anymore of my personal property that she wanted from the home that she wanted her nephew to have. It is very clear that Pam let the emotions of her family member get in the way of the sale instead of handling it in the traditional, professional manner. She showed herself to be disrespectful to me because of how she handled my personal belongings during the final walk through, her demands that the home needed to spotless for her nephew instead of broom clean according to the contract, and her unreasonable demands for personal property compensation for items that were never included in the original contract.
